tiny, tiny baby

Post by eastwood2007 »

Could this be a mini? (The one in the center.) It is so tiny! About 2 weeks old and 2 leaves. The "big" leaf on the top is just over 1/4" long. I don't have a very good camera, so it is kind of hard to see, but it is beautifully streaked and pretty good substance. You just about need a magnifying glass to see it, though! It is in a 36-cell seed flat, so you can get an idea of it's actual size.

Mini?

Tough to tell this early but it is fun to see all the different sizes and types of seedlings that come up.
Looks good for that small.

These seedlings are Kiwi Highlights x OP. I got them off ebay. I am amazed at the variety of types of seedlings that came. Short round ones, solid colors, green, dark green, blue, gold, streakies, pointed. It is amazing! I also still have things germinating, and I planted them Jan 28.

If you get them to eight or ten leaves, and they are still tiny, then you've probably got a mini. I have one now that has that many leaves, and is 3" across, and sending up a flower stalk! I'm anxious to see what kind of flowers it will have, and am hoping that they'll be the yingerii type, since the pod parents were near a yingerii enclave. Phyllis

Thanks, Stephanie. I am having fun watching it. :D

Have you got any photos, Granny Nanny? I'd luuuuuuvv to see that one!

I have an area right now where I have room for about a dozen minis, but I am being picky. I'd love to put one or two seedlings I started in there....all the ones I am interested in buying are kinda expensive, so I'm hoping I get some of my own.
