Hosta Leaves #1
The pic of Guacamole I found was in a folder with some leaf detail pics I took at the end of July in 2005. They looked so fresh. Thought it would be fun to post some while we're waiting for spring.
This was an experiment using the macro feature of my Canon digital. Considering that it's just 1.3 megapixels I think it takes some pretty nice pics. A few of these are a little bit too close, but I was happy with most of them.

- This leaf of Color Glory was HUGE!! It gets absolutely no sun so it doesn't have a chance to burn ;O)

- Abiqua Drinking Gourd - the cupping on this leaf is hard to distinguish but I think it was about 2 1/2" deep

- Olive Bailey Langdon gets virtually no sun either - very very dappled light thru layered branches of my crab apple tree & the neighbor's maple.

Thanks, WZBT03!! I was out the last 2 afternoons cleaning up my huge sunny perennial garden. Since the tulips are all up over an inch already, the leaves are gonna hafta stay put. And there are hundreds of tulips. All the perennials are showing signs of life - just waiting for the temps to stay warm.

- Regal Rhubarb looked great in 2005, but it was very small last year. It's on my to-do list cuz it needs to be released from the pot I originally planted it in since it was so small & feeble when I got it.

- This Undulata has always had very narrow centers [which was why I bought it] - it looked more normal than it ever had last year so it found a new home with the gal who cuts my hair. She had just discovered the joys of hosta.

- This is my Striptease OS [same one that was in the Squash Covered Dish pic] - it gets quite a bit of afternoon sun & the center was bleached out by the end of July.
