Post by renaldo75 »

This will be the last day. I only had so many good pics of hostas that still had good looking leaves in early August '05.

I was amazed that Super Nova looked this good considering how much summer sun it receives.

To my surprise, I just discovered another whole folder of leaf pics. So I guess I'm not finished yet after all.

This Crowned Imperial always looked great until this past year. It didn't survive the double attack of crab apple roots & then crown rot. But it always looked much better than any Francee I have.

Dark Star is a favorite of mine. I think it surpasses the 10 Foot Rule and the 20 Foot Rule. [It does for me anyway.]

Some of the leaves were more streaked than others in 2005. Last year I moved it to a sunnier location & it was MUCH more streaked. Can't wait to see it this year!!

Great pics, as usual! I saw a Wolverine yesterday in person for the first time. It is really lovely! By your pics it looks like it holds up well, too, if that was taken in August like the others. Thanks for sharing! :)

Very nice pics, Poppi!! :P  I always have trouble getting a good shot of Bridegroom - yours is really nice!! :P Hopefully one of these days my Reptillian will look as fantastic as yours. :o 8-) And Cinnamon Sticks is on my short wish~list.

Thanks, Charla!! :P In 2005, my Wolverine was still putting out new leaves at the end of July, but some of the older leaves didn't look that good. [Brown spots here & there mostly & they looked kinda tired.] Mine is in a pretty shaded spot on the north side of a 'young' oak. I remember that whether Wolverine held up well or not was a topic of discussion on the forum later that fall or winter. So I made sure to look again this last summer. Even with all of the extreme heat we'd had, it looked better than it had the year before. Surprised me!! :???: :P

Do not know if it was my Wolverine only or if it's general
It was beautiful where it was, but to crowded- so I moved it early spring at it looked avful all summer- last year it was back to the normal beauty- may be one of them who do not like to be disturbed

Great pics both of you :D
