:o A pic from last summer, the flower on this hybrid looks like a white flower that was molested by
Barney the purple Dinosaur!..I thought he wore gloves !..this seedling sure does look like finger prints are all over it... I crossed it again last year with 'B.S.' to define it some more.

Flowers

Leafy, these are all great looking flowers, but unless they're on smashing plants, they will be ignored. What does the whole plant look like?

Jim the purple marking reminds me of a pen and ink drawing (maybe even an etching). The lines are very distinct with the occasional ink bleeds. Very lovely.

George, I hybridize hosta because I love the plant. Who doesn't like flowers ? I post pics of my hybrids because I enjoy doing it and hopefully my pics can bring some joy to someone else :P this forum was built on encouragement and positive comments by a lot of great people

Flowers

Leafy, I'm sorry you took that as a negative comment. It wasn't. I simply stated the mind set of the Hosta world. Ran Lydell, here locally, has run into a similar roadblock with his 'Oh My Heart', and others. He too has been working to improve Hosta flowers, both quantity and quality.

You could put a fragrant, red rose on a Hosta scape, and people would immediately ask why is it a plain green leaf.
