Every year from selective breeding I'm getting bigger and bigger flowers. I have matched plantagineas size but nothing bigger yet.
If you can't make the flower bigger, for visual impact, put it on a smaller plant.
This seedling started off by breeding a wavy yellow seedling to 'Ginko Craig' the result was a wavy bright yellow seedling half the size of 'G.C.' I called this one "Shine'. I used pollen from 'Shine' on another mini I nicked named Wavy wonder. I now had an unremarkable fast growing, wavy gold mini ( W.W. X Shine)
The one thing that was remarkable about WWxS was that off spring, even when crossed with big plants, never grew larger than 'Ginko Craig', even with three generations of different dark flowering hybrids I could still find a small wavy gold in the offspring,
This chartreuse seedling I sent will probably not get bigger than 'G. C' a small plant. The buds on this hybrid near the bottom are 3" long already, that's half the size of the leaves.
These shots were taken in natural light this morning and are a very close match to what the eye sees
