new seedlings and older seedlings

Post by Justaysam »

Seedlings, seedlings everywhere! The first are from the 3rd batch, started around 1/25, from WSM seed auction. The last are my crosses, started earlier, around Nov. or so. I love them best, but the newer ones look to be showing interesting stuff also.

Last ones, updated pics on the earliest ones I started. These are from crosses of my own, some from H. Liberty Bell, and some from my seedlings from the 05/06 streaked seedlings.

Leafmold, I never tried any Blue Angel seed. I got those BA Streaked seed at WSM auction, I think they are from Hans Hanson. The babies of mine, the older ones, prob. have some of your pollen in them :D from 05/06 crosses. They have great color, blue and yellow streaking, good substance and a very heavy waxy bloom! Just what I always wanted, Thanks! I added the ruffles this time around. Now that I have what I am crossing for, I have to think up something else to try for this season  .

Thanks Rod and Jeff! Post some of what you got Rod from the auction, we addicts need to stick together  ! I still have some Galaxy and High Beam seedlings to pot up into individual containers, I'll post those when I get them replanted.

Great seedlings!

I like them all!

It will be fun to see how they develop as they grow.

:D The first 6 can go everywhere, but are cute little seedlings :D :D :D

Number 2 in the next row is a spidery wavy streaker... what more are you asking for :hmm:

Just read your second posting on an other topic and thought they all died for you

 :D  Pia

No Pia, I have lots and lots of seedlings still alive. I, for some reason, keep trying to grow seed from H. Dorothy Benedict, trying to add to the streaked breeders I am growing and using for pollen or pod parents. Each time I buy expensive seed, and carefully plant and care for them, only to find the offspring to be solid green seedlings, that usually die on me before I can get them outside to be planted. That is what I was trying to say in the other post. I see many others, like Rod who can grow beautiful seedlings from DB, but I just have no luck with them

Love that middle one of your older seedlings. The new babies are looking good, too. My WSM seeds are still in the packet. My big plan of getting the basement cleaned out before I started any seeds went astray. I hurt my back and had to quit. I did more or less find my seed starting table, and I'm still going to plant them. Got the starting mix treated and ready to go, maybe today will be the day. It feels like winter, so I'll do a winter project!
