Books online

Post by jgh »

I got the Grenfells/Shadrack "Color Encylopedia of Hostas" from the library and decided that it was fun too look at but that I didn't need to buy it. Recently, while googling around, I found that Google has a books page. I was able to browse through the entire book online!

When I Googled "Color Encyclopedia Hostas" I got search results showing a number of gardening books with "limited preview" status, including the 2002 "Encyclopedia of Perennials" by W. George Schmid.

Nice resource!

Very Interesting! I'll have to try it.

What ever happened to that new book Mark Zillis was working on?

Marlys.. I think there have to be a STOP for new registrations before we see it

Jim, you are right.. In my head it is a nice colored book for coffee table conversaions .. in the garden it is of no use..and somehow those hostas do not have vein pairs ..

Quick steps for looking up a hosta

1.. Hosta Handbook
2 ..Internet
3...Encyclopedia of Hostas... hard to get there after the first 2

Want an updated Hosta Handbook... something useful :D
