Everytime we go on a vacation or getaway, we always try and find a plant to bring back from the area as a reminder.
Last October was a tough one as we went biking on Mackinaw Island and there were no nurseries or anything nearby. Once on the mainland, things were just as sparse.
We went biking on the backroads and as only blind luck would have it, a nursery in the middle of nowhere.
I picked out a nice multi-eyed LS Kaleidoscope since the pickings were rather slim and they were already battening down the hatches for winter. Since it was cutoff to nothing and not marked in any way, I just had to take her word on it that it was probably a Kaleidoscope. I think it cost me all of $5.
The picture is of it this spring after planting it last October.
A living memory of an adventure in the UP.

Hmmmm
Maybe I want my $5 back <S>.
I guess I have too many hostas when I just start taking them for what I am told they are. I may have to watch this one and perhaps have another mystery plant.
