I sure like this one, Mal!! 8-) Please send along some updates throughout the season. I've always loved a well-grown Lakeside Sao Kao. Even though mine doesn't grow worth a darn... :x

Great Mal...love the highlighted veins and the subtle ruffling of the leaf edge.

Thanks, guys.

You know it's said that good ones from seeds are few and far between {excuse me, but most of the greats were from seed, right?], and maybe it's not as much fun as walking down rows of 1000's of tc's and reaching down and picking up a sport, ( --puff-puff--wiping sweat off brow-- but  one that you've coddled all winter long and were there from conception to the delivery room is pretty special. Should we seedy people have "conception [Hosta]parties"?

(Renaldo, I've noticed that LSK adores steer manure--I top-dress about 1" of it in the spring)

Mal - my LSK is so small this year that if I top dressed it with an inch of anything I wouldn't be able to find it. LOL And here last year I thought it finally had started getting a little bigger - guess that assessment was premature. :???:

Renaldo, I'll bet your LSK can beat up my War Paint one-inch wide leaves, that I mortgaged the house for last year.....

Well surprisingly you're right. :o It's had a little spurt since the rains. 1 3/8" wide x 3 1/8" long. 3 eyes - all of the middle sized one would fit safely in about 1/2 of 1 leaf of the larger one & the tiny one you almost need a magnifying glass to detect. Sort of reminds me of one of the nested sets of Santa boxes in hosta form.
