Please help solve my mystery

Post by addieotto »

As I mentioned in my recent thread of garden photos, I have an unidentified hosta. This is pretty embarrassing for me because I do two things in life: work and garden. I have no social life. :-?

I obsessively mark and record all of my hosta. Every so often I buy something unidentified found in a corner of a nursery but at least I know that in advance. What is most annoying to me is I knew exactly what hosta this was but the information has been lost. I'm tempted to dig it up to see if there's a plant marker buried nearby...

What might make this mystery easier to solve is I have a very thorough list (on my website) of all hosta I have ever purchased. But yet I have painstakingly gone through the list to try to match every hosta on the list to every plant in my gardens and NO LUCK! :x

To make matters worse, although it is gorgeous, it's not exactly the most unique hosta I've ever seen by a longshot :( :???: .

Anyhoo... here's my unknown. I would appreciate any guesses in the remote chance I did not list this plant on the site  and if you want to try to match him up to a name on my list you can find it here: http://myhostagardens.com/ I don't remember what the flowers are like or when it flowers but if someone has a guess I can try to match it up that way later in the summer.

Its not on your list but it could be a Pacific Blue Edger.

How about Sherborne Swift? The HL doesn't have many pics so I did a google search and came up with some nice pics that closely resemble yours.

The color, form, and slight rugosity reminds me of H. 'Aoki' but that one isn't on your list... :???:

Rendaldo - Couldn't resist but that's not a half bad thought... especially because I thought I had Halcyon at one point then "realized" I didn't and bought one. So maybe I have two HalcyonNOTs.

something about the leaf...

No picture in the hosta library of anything other than the leaf, but could it be Ultramarine?

Depending on the size ... and flower ...
A couple of leaves put me in mind of Osprey ... perhaps a relative?
