Oh, don't put a single thing under it, that would detract from the gorgeous view. You could hide in the rain under that thing! Love the nice tight clump and flare of leaves, it is like a giant bunch of flowers.

George - what you need to do is get some red petioles on a gold Elatior seedling. Then cross it with a piecrusted hosta. :P There's more than one way to skin a cat.

Yellow Elatior

My, Reldon, you were up late last night. I need my beauty sleep.

That would work too, but even though 'Elatior' is in my mulberry bed, I'm not a big fan. I can't put my finger on it. Coarseness? Color? Something.

I think I'm beyond beauty sleep helping, George.

Well substitute another big, fast growing hosta that you can turn gold then. I think Diva is a gold Elatior seedling, but not sure that it gets quite as large. Be creative. Play amongst the gene pool.

2 or 3 growing seasons & you're there. :P

You REALLY need a pic of something or someone napping under that hosta. Large dog, small child, neighbor, pink plastic flamingo...you get the idea....something for scale, kind of like when a teeny tiny person stands in front of a huge monument.

Not sure what a Breyer Horse is, but sounds good to me. How about a wheel barrow. Even more boring, a yard stick or a long-handle shovel.
