Parhelion

Post by Ed_B »

This one is in it's third year here. When I saw this one at the growers home, I decided I needed it
A few more years it should be prime.

Yours apparently isn't directly below a robin's nest like mine is. Mine had a lot more variegation in the leaves before they left the nest.

I had never paid much attention to Parhelion - oh another Sum & Substance sport :???: - until I saw it on a garden tour a couple years ago. I found one on sale that fall.

Beautiful! Give that one lots of room - mine is 4/5 yrs. old, 18 eyes and 62” across already! Leaves 11.5”w x 14.5”l. Just love the bright “Granny Smith apple” green of this one, especially with the crisp, clear white edge that often streaks to the middle.

Next cool, cloudy day it is being moved to the “Moon Garden” to be with all the other white & green hosta. Think I will wait until my husband is home...at 6’4”, he is a big help moving big things! (hehe)

Nice, Ed. That one just went on my list last weekend. I was with Reldon. Ho, hum. Just another S&S sport. Then I saw the most gorgeous one Sunday, and another Monday, and now I gotta have one!

Same here...another S&S sport  , but this one is o.k. Actually, if you have the room they are fun to grow, give a somewhat tropical look to the garden, I guess. Any excuse, I suppose, to justify a purchase

This is one hosta that when you see it as a small plant it doesn't say much, but if you see it in it's full size, it stops
you in your tracks.

I love this hosta. This pic of mine ties in with your Potomac Pride post as well because mine are planted side by each. Here's a pic...
