color glory

Post by poppi »

It seems that there are alot of people that have trouble with Color Glory. I thought I'd share a picture of mine with you. Sorry I don't mean to brag, but it seems very happy. I do nothing to it expect for occasional watering when it gets really dry. Also pictured are night before christmas, Pizzazz, and June. Enjoy.

Color Glory

Very nice plant and mine look very good also.

I seems to me it suffers from a genetic fault, either a root thing or leaf thing (very descriptive but I can't remember) and hence not recommended as a breeding partner.

Poppi!!! That is the most beautiful Color Glory I've ever seen. Mine looked good for a number of years as a youngster, but then it got to looking horrible. I took out an all-blue section last year, and the rest of it nearly disappeared.
Thanks for sharing that one with us!

Poppi--Linda P described my experience exactly. Yours may be the only nice Color Glory in existance.

How old is your plant?

Beautiful Color Glory - so full!! Mine likes where I have it now in almost total shade, but it doesn't ever increase in size - still just 2 eyes after 5 1/2 years in the ground. :???:

That's a nice grouping too. I think we need to see more of your gardens. :P

thanks everyone for the kind words. :D

Hank, It's been in since fall 2001 or 2002, I don't remember which. It was in the first bed I put in. I does get mostly shade so there's no burning at all.

Renaldo, I'll post some other garden pics as time permits. I'm probably as hooked on taking garden pics as I am on gardening. We don't have high speed where we live so I have to rely on dial-up :( .

I got outside to take a pic of my CG and I see it's already showing some crispy leaves. I got it in 2003 and it had two eyes . Now I counted three big eyes and three smaller ones. Sorry this pic is so dark, but it's getting ready to storm soon and it's getting dark outside.........so the flash went off.
