You Decide

I decided it might be fun to compare a OS Lakeside Black Mama with a Lakeside Black Mama F1 3rd year plant.

Can you tell the difference?

What does OS mean? I think it means original stock. What do you see in these two pictures. I am still learning a lot about hosta.

OS is originator stock.

What I am showing is two virtually identical plants.
I have grown an number of other LS Black Mama plants from seed and the F1 represented in the picture is far and away the closest I have ever seen.

I doubt the originator could tell the difference.

Maybe, just maybe, the seedling has leaves that are a little longer? I have an OP ventricosa seedling that could pass for a sibling of your F1 Lakeside Black Mama.
Interesting comparison!
