Seedling question

Post by playinmud »

I planted hosta seed in March. They all germinated fine. I transplanted into a multi cell flat when they had two strong leaves. I put the flats outside and they are doing fine, but not really growing.

I think they need more sun, but will the sun fry them? Does anyone else take their seedlings outside?

Any input would be much appreciated on where these trays of seedlings would be most comfortable.

Thanks!

If you grew them inside, they will fry in the sun, especially this time of year. If you want to move them outside, do it very gradually. Keep them in 100% shade for at least a week or two.

If you had been keeping them in 24hr lighting, then the move outside slows them till they get use to the new light schedule too!
