Pic of the Day--Green Piecrust

Post by Hank Zumach »

Hi All--Green Piecrust, purchased in 1995 and getting very little direct sun, has been one of the two or three largest varieties in our garden, based on the diameter measurement, along with Sum and Substance and Blue Angel. Green Piecrust's eye grabbing mound of heavily rippled leaf edges should grace every garden with enough space. While I haven't done much experimenting with seedlings, Green Piecrust has produced a number of seedlings that we really enjoy. Its size averaged about 78x32, a bit larger than Zilis' listing of 57x30. Slugs are an easily controlled problem.
