Please help identify a friend's green Hosta

Post by thehostagourmet »

The enclosed pictures show the plant, which is of interest for its 360 degree flower placement around its scapes and the near-blue color of its flowers. The leaves are 14" long by 7" wide with 14 vein pairs, and look like it's from Montana heritage. The plant is about 4' wide by 2 1/2' high, and yes, those are my crossing tags. I've been asked to turn the plant blue or yellow.

Thanks.

George

Lots of vein pairs, bluish flowers well-presented (as you note); could it just be some OP montana seedling/variant? Hard to think anyone would have named this, but it could be some old hybrid.

Green mystery Hosta

Tigger, thanks. I was hoping it was a well known old variety, so I would know what I was working with.

Anybody else have any ideas?
