I had Twilight ... I was never impressed with it.
However, I was given a hosta named Anne in a trade. Later I read in the hosta journal that Anne is the European name for U.S. Twilight. So I purchased a couple more Twilight to compare with my Anne and they never did impress me. They were finicky and after five or six years I just compost toasted them.
Anne however grew beautifully ...

I had one Twilight and it died, so I replaced it. I don't have a recent pic, but this pic is from 2005. I think it's very pretty, but it is finicky.

I've always liked mine, but it does have some root competition with trees. It's carefree here, really no problems with anything except the roots of trees :(

Please excuse the birdie who ate berries before taking a break in a limb above this hosta! :D

I had two...one died, and the other one is doing fine. I don't have a pic of it, though. The reverse sport Morning Light, on the other hand, has got smaller every year until it reached a size that it seems to be comfortable maintaining. I think it has 5 leaves.

Here's mine...even with all the hot weather we've had last 2 weeks and the new kittens playing with it, it still is looking tuff. The little brown spots just showed up in the last few days, where everything else looks much worse. The leaves are so sturdy it almost feels plastic. It has tripled in size since it's one eye last year.

Only complaint I have is it hasn't bloomed so far.

Twilight & Morning Light

Post by Marlys »

Twilight & Morning Light were both finicky for me & both dwindled to nothingness! :( I would not recommend either of them as vigorous garden plants. Money could be better spent else-where.

I loved Morning Light! I thought it was so very pretty and it did fine for a couple years, but then up and died on me. I haven't replaced it and not sure if I will. I really don't need the hassle of finicky plants.

I agree,
Morning Light was a disappointment. It's one hosta I paid more than $50 for and was a putz in the garden. Of course our neighbor's huge dog had stepped on it that first season ...
