Bressingham Blue loves heat
I have written several times about how tough this summer has been. Most of my hostas have some sort of heat stress, thirst for water, or bug problem. An exception is my Bressingham Blue. It has thrived through the Spring and Summer long drought and three weeks of 100+ degree heat. It has actually grown very well and has no leaf damage. As you can see from the picture, it gets filtered light. This is one tough hosta (Gold Standard in background).

Very nice and your Gold Standard too

Looks great Harry, the little lady in white must give it plenty of water with her bucket!
I got it this spring, how different is it to Elegans? I just did the compare hosta library photos thing and I would have trouble telling them apart.

BB is probably 6-7 years since planting. As I recall, it was a decent size potted plant. It has grown steadily. It is one of the few hosta I have that has not been transplanted. The picture above is from spring 2014. Last fall ('14) I had to transplant the fern as well as Captain Kirk who is visible to the right. The lovely lady with the baskets also had to be moved to give Bressingham Blue more room to expand.
It is located in a shady spot, receiving only a few hours of morning sun. Mottled sun later in the day.
I grow Elegans which is about five years old and in a sunnier location. It is probably about 5' across. Elegans does not seem as blue, but that is probably caused by the increased light.

Thanks Harry, I grow my Elegans in full sun here and it keeps its grey/blueness all season, nice to know that BB is bluer, the one I got is quite small so will stay in a pot till it gets a little bit bigger. You take a really great photo, they are really nice.

Thanks Denis. Some pictures turn out great, others not so great. If I take a lot, I'll have a few to post!
I have to give Elegans credit for pushing out its neighbors as did Bressingham Blue. There is an Olive Bailey Langdon to the right of Elegans which had to be transplanted last fall. And the Georgia Peach Heuchera as well. You have to give the big boys some space.
