Komodo dragon- Have it? How much sun can it take?

Post by LSUHostafreak »

How big is your Komodo dragon?

How much sun does it get? How much do you think it can tolerate? (I live in upper Alabama- some hostas do well in sun here but many dont despite alot of water)

How fast does it grow?

Thanks for the input.

I have a huge one here that I am fostering for a friend - about 5’ across. Here it gets high bright shade and speckled sun only. We are in the middle of the lower peninsula of Michigan, so our sun is far more gentle than in the south (most years). I imagine down there all the hosta need to be in mostly shade.

Hej and Welcome to the forums :D

It is a green one..and from my knowledge green ones are the most easy in sun and shade. In Alabama I would put all hostas in shade :-? .. may just be a stereotype.. Alabama and cotton picking :D
For streotypes.. NO, we do not have Polar bears walking the streets in Denmark
But even some south European people think so
