Pics of fresh hostas always make me long for spring again...even if it is still early fall. :P

Ceil, a named unregistered Hosta is one that the name was published in printed form, such as a nursery catalog, Hosta Finder or the Hosta Journal. The internet doesn't count because it is considered to be non permanent. (but I did hear that some folks want to change that) There's tons of named unregistered Hostas out there. Olive Branch is another one I can think of where I always want to cut a leaf for the show, then remember it isn't registered. You can show an unregistered leaf, but it can't win any awards higher than best of section. The classification list is available in PDF format at the AHS website.

Roxanne, St. Paul is also one of my favorites. We've had a couple of frosts and this one is still beautiful...always perfect leaves, not one slug hole..certainly worthy of registration.
