Post by hostavalley »

Hello folks,

Like I promised a few weeks ago I start to show you many pictures of my great hosta trip I had last summer. I spend two weeks in America. the 1 week in Indiana and Iowa and the second week I went to the East Coast around Connecticut.

The first week Rod showed me around everywhere and did a great job....thanks again Rod!!! We had a wonderful week....

The second week kathie S. showed me around and also did a good job and put allot of effort in that hosta trip...

Two great people and good friends....thanks!!!!

I will show many of those pictures in the next weeks..............

The first visit whe did (Rod and Me)was to Brian and Virginia Skaggs. after a delayed flight from Amsterdam to Chicago. They thought I was a terrorist...amd there was orange alert. I came out of the airport a few hours later. A shame for us....so I missed a few hours from the visit to the Skaggs. Also was Dave Stegeman waiting in his pickup truck...to meet us to bring us to the Skaggs....

In the meanwhile it was around the 100 degrees........hot!!!!

The big green hosta on the second picture is The giant introduction from the Skaggs.

Hosta 'Empress Wu'.

Thanks for the pictures! Hopefully you will be able to share more.

I can't get over how large Brian and Virginia grow those monsters.

I was talking with Bill Meyer this past summer and he mentioned that you passed through Michigan on your way to the East coast - and would you believe you were within 15 miles of us? Too bad you weren't able to stop by, but it sure sounded like you had a very busy trip :D
