Fantastic picture of a very attractive hosta!

I was just noticing yesterday that this one still looks perfect for September. Thanks for sharing :)

Yes it is gorgeous. But like I said, there's more to like it. Superb substance and sun tolerant (this one has been getting a lot of sun this year)

'Rainbows End' IS NEW TO ME AND GORGEOUS. (Oops. Didn't mean to shout.) How large would I expect it to get as a mature plant? I'm beginning to be seriously out of space.

It's not too big. But it ain't no Blue Mouse Ears either. Somwehere between Small and Medium. It needs the same amount of space as a Hanky Panky...

Rainbow's End shouldn't get as big as Hanky Panky which gets to be a pretty large plant here.

Rainbow's End is a sport of Obsession with a light colored center. Obsession has stayed a small/medium sized plant here, but other gardens I've seen it in Obsession has been a medium sized plant (about 24" across). Since RE has less green I think it could be smaller, so won't need much space.

Still think those are some terrific pictures Sugar :D

I actually did find it on my wish list when I went to add it. Now I just need to find someone in Canada who sells it.

I was really pleased with this one this year. You're right Chris, I noticed yesterday that mine still look good too. I would be surprised if this one got really big.

I also LOVE Rainbow's End :D Mine are only two years old and about a foot across. I liked the streaking and coloring so much that I bought two!

Two years later... this picture gives an idea of the size of this plant. The plant besides it is a 4-eyed Royal Mouse Ears

I often see this plant listed in catalogs as a small plant, which it isn't. It's definately medium sized

This is a terrific plant! I'm really happy to have another batch of these coming up in 2011. It is a patented plant so we can't produce it ourselves so I was worried about how we would start more. Shady Oaks had stopped production of it for a year but started up again. If they hadn't it would have essentially halted the sales of this plant for good, until someone else got the rights to produce it.

I like Obsession too, but it isn't quite as showy as this one :)

Thanks for bringing this up again Sugar!

Hi,
It one of my top 5. Love it. I paid 34.95 3-4 years ago, and it was worth it. I am going to plant two leather sheen in the forefront.
What would you use for a companion?

And it grows fast too! I got a 4-eyed plant from Hallson's last Spring, and this year it has 7 eyes. Shiny leaves and very recognizable from a distance.
