Peedee series

I am the proud new owner of a H. Peedee Gold Flash. I bought one of these for my mom on Mother's Day and got a division from it today. In looking on the Hosta Library there are 10 or so hostas that start with Peedee and all from Ursula Syré-Herz. What is the significance of "Peedee"?

I believe it is referring to the Pee Dee River area of South Carolina.
