Slideshow of Hostas in my garden in 2008

Click on the photo of 'Mr Big' to view a slideshow of Hostas in my garden from 2008. Hope you enjoy the show.

'Mr Big' was purchased from Hallsons in 2004 and is sure living up to his name.

I'll be checking that out further once I get off this slow dialup! I saw the first few, and I can't wait to see more.
Thanks for sharing!

Linda P & Leslie, thanks for checking out the show!

Linda P, another whole, new world is waiting out there for you once you get off of dial-up. Dial-up is like those TV commercials that have the bad experiences that are like waiting for the cable guy.

I agree, Cowboy! When I get online at my kids house (they have cable) or at my brother's house (he has wireless) it just makes me crazy to come home and sit here and wait...........

Now that was fun! :D I liked the way the photo shows up first, then the name of the hosta a second later. It gave me a chance to guess each name. Geez, I thought I could identify a lot of hostas, but I only got about 10 out of almost 200. That is quite a collection you have assembled. Thanks for putting it all together and up on the forum.

Thank you cowboy for the wonderful visit back to summer! I have never seen such a large Spilt Milk, you must have had that plant for years, mine grows so slowly. I see that you had achillea interspersed with some of your hostas. Does it have long term survival in the partial shade that most hostas need?

Both Mr Big and Spilt Milk were purchased from Hallsons in 2004. When they arrived the roots were huge (and clean, I have never seen such clean roots). They both have put on some pretty good growth, but those huge roots are what really started them off.

The Yarrow that is planted near the Hostas get quite a bit of Sun. I haven't done much to the Yarrow and it gets bigger every year.

Thanks for checking out the show.

Here are a couple photos of Mr Big and Spilt Milk, then & now.

I am ordering some of that Spilt Milk this spring! I don't know if mine is in too shady a spot but it is growing sooooo slowly. I love yarrow and grow it at our cabin in Michigan in full sun. I am going to try some in fill in areas in our dappled shade beds here in MD. Thanks for the great ideas and photos!

Loved the slideshow! I tried to guess what each of them were also before the name came up on the screen, but didn't do so well. Oh well....I never said I was good at IDing.
I saw several in there that will be added to my wish list. They were all so beautiful! Thanks for posting this. :D
