Some small Hosta

Post by sugar »

Little Red Rooster
Image
In case you are wondering why there's 'red' in the name :
Image

Lakeside Babyface: one of my favourite small ones. Looks like a mini-sagae, but this one grows consistently
Image

Hosta 'Lemon lime' : the fastest growing hosta variety in my garden, it will be the first to flower as well
Image

Hosta 'Holy Mouse Ears' - a new one from last fall
Image

Hosta 'Stiletto' - a real classic. I think I need to divide mine this year, because the ripples are fading...

They all look wonderful! I love my Lemon Lime also. It is the first to come up, the first to flower, and it just keeps going and going. Nothing seems to faze it

Lakeside Baby Face is really great. It does look like a mine Sagae. I was looking for a mini version of Frances Williams because I love that coloration. A reverse of Holy Mouse ears would be great, too. I love small hosta..wish more of them were slug resistant, though, since that's a necessity in my slug infested garden.

Great pictures. I think I may have to have a Lakeside Babyface one of these days.

How does the size of Little Red Soldier compare with Little Red Rooster?

You sure take great care of your hosta, always immaculate condition and the "watermark" makes them appear as if they are royalty. It is nice to see.

I have never been a fan of small hosta....but am learning to appreciate them more. Your pictures are wonderful and I love the first two shots. My hosta friends recently gave me a few small and mini's and it will be interesting to see if they will grow on me...or
