What's wrong with me?

Post by jobranch »

Yesterday afternoon, I planted a hosta given as a gift (H. Abiqua Moonbeam) and really had a hard time finding a place to put it. Last night, I told my wife "I don't need any more hostas - I'm running out of room for them!" This morning I started a wish list for some new hostas from Chris. What's wrong with me?

Please advise,
Jeff

You just have remarkable turnaround speed. Some of us take 2-3 days when we say that.

I could quit anytime I wanted to... I really could... I just don't want to...

BTW - Abiqua Moonbeam is a nice hosta... attractive, good growth rate, no fuss - tolerant of wide range of conditions. The only problem with it is it should really be grown in a group planting with its parent, August Moom, and its siblings - Septemember Sun, Indianna Knight, Lunar Orbit, August Beauty, Lunar Magic, Velvet Moon, Xela... maybe even Lunar Eclipse (in spite of the drawstring flaw) and the seedling Moon Waves.

To paraphrase "JAWS" - you're going to need a bigger garden!

Just what I expected from this forum - sincere advise offered in an understanding way. I have an area on my front porch for potted hostas and I am out of room there. I have three beds that are just about full, especially for large hostas. But I will find a way to make them all fit in.

Thanks yall,
Jeff

This winter I told my husband there are three hostas I want to buy this year and the rest we can just divide. Well I bought 5 this weekend, and none are the ones I wanted. But i couldn't pass them up, they were only $4 each and big and pretty! So in the pouring rain yesterday he pulled up the sod for me and we planted them, plus two from division and have space for a couple more. he was even talking about expanding this new garden out even more! He's a sweetie!

The only thing I can see wrong is that you think there might be something wrong with you. Your behavior is well within the parameters of normal behavoir...
for a hostaholic. We describe and define our own 'normal' here on the forum.
My husband said last year that I have planted too many trees. Little does he know that I am still looking for more.....

Oops...I may have let the darker side slip just a little...but wait! That's okay...it's a hosta forum. We LIVE on the dark side....
