H. Nigrescens

Post by largosmom »

This is a hosta I almost did not buy...but it's just lovely...statuesque even! It's a purchase from a couple of years ago from Chris.

It's a very impressive plant in a clump, and distinctive even though 'just a plain green'.
Tenryu is the same, can't tell them apart.

Good purchase. 'Nigrescens' may be the most statuesque hosta in our collection.

Can't wait to see the blossoms this year. I guess I need to put it someplace it will have room to stand out. :D

That looks like a lovely hosta. Wish I had room to add one myself, but I think I'll have to dream on.

and if you like this one... look at Victory, a green with yellow-to-cream margins sport of Elatior. It has HUGE leaves and the upright form and tall flower scapes - very dramatic specimen!
