A couple of pics from the garden today......
... that were looking good.
Sun Power - moved it last summer and hasn't missed a beat.
Risky Business - haven't taken many shots of this one since adding the fern a couple of years ago - it's finally re-emerging.
Paradigm - wonderful hosta
Gold Standard - starting its run to gold I think.
Blue Arrow - added the path last fall which gave it more room - it shows even better now
Atlantis - 1 eye last fall. Edge is starting to yellow up nicely.
Thanks for looking. Please add your pics of what's looking good right now.

Beautiful photos and gardens, Paul! You have that mix of foliage color and texture that I love and use.

Those look great Paul! Personally I've just never been able to get Sun Power to grow like that I'm afraid, and I could never figure out why...
I really need to get the camera out soon. Lots of nice things here still - we've been lucky (knock on wood) not to have any horrible hail storms like so many others have had to deal with
Thanks for sharing!

I am so jealous of your beautiful "cool" looking plants. It is so absolutely unbearly hot here that everything is wilting and I'm afraid that I have let my garden go because I can't stand to be outside for more than a few minutes. It is nice to be able to look at yours!

Re: A couple of pics from the garden today......
Thanks all for the nice comments. We've had decent amount of rain this summer - it really helps. Pics have been looking good the last couple of weeks, but I think the heat will soon end that.
Sun Power above is just north of my house so gets at most a couple peeks of sun, most of that dappled through the oaks. Last couple of years my Sun Powers (3 planted in '06, another one pictured below) have been color changing to yellow instead of staying chartreuse. The third one is planted in sun and it is completely different - smaller narrower leaves, tighter form and a bronze tint to the yellow with the season.

Everything looks so nice! Do you spray? It seems everything here has holes of some sort. Thanks for sharing your pristine hostas!! Jo

Jo, thanks - In general, my North and East side gardens don't get much damage from slugs and such - these pics were all from the North garden. My West and South gardens do get quite a bit of slug damage - they usually drop the leaves rather than climb up and eat holes - maybe they don't like heights. I use slug baits, 10% ammonia spray and diatomaceous earth - when I'm diligent it works pretty good.

Those look wonderful! I've moved Sun Power a few times and it has continued to grow well for me each time. I'm going to move it again next Spring because I have it next to my house, where it fries during the summer. I love your Risky Business. Someone on another forum gave me a generous division of RB to lift my spirits after our terrible hailstorm and I'm so excited to see it mature even more...I've wanted that one for a while. And Blue Arrow is a nice one, too. Might have to find a spot for that one in the future.

My Sun Power is mostly green. I moved it about six weeks ago to a spot I think will offer more sun and I hope that helps it become brighter. There is a photo of it in a issue of Fine Gardening magazine and it is green there too. Will more sun light make it color up?
Re: A couple of pics from the garden today......
jobranch, yes, Sun Power should get pretty bright with some sun. Mine gets half a day (morning to about 1:00) and it's quite gold. Too light, in fact. I don't like it when the gold ones bleach out. I'm going to move it to a spot where it will get about 90 minutes of sun.
