Praying Hands Sport with pics
I was at the garden store yesterday and found a praying hands with a streaky sport...so I bought it! I took it home and divided it off the parent and planted it in a pot. I'll post pictures later today. Has anyone else found a streaky one?

Re: Praying Hands Sport
HI Poppi,
They are cool looking, but not all that uncommon really. I've probably found a dozen of them over the past 7 years we've been growing Praying Hands and I've set them aside to watch them and most stabilized to normal Praying Hands after a while. One is still a bit streaky, but not really growing well. One that I found last year had rounded leaves with a streaked center and wasn't anything like Praying Hands. I cut it off the crown from the normal parts and the whole thing came back normal this year
They are always fun to watch though

Bummer Chris , It's really cool all streaked up. I was hoping it would stay this way. Oh well, it's a great hosta anyway. Guess I'll keep it in a pot. It will be a nice specimen...at least for this year.

You've got nothing to lose to try to grow it and who knows, you might get a surprise!

Hi Poppi,
Very nice . I wouldn't mind having one of those , even if it was for only one year Good Luck with it and I hope it stays streaked for you.

I picked one up this year too. Of the 4 eyes on the PH, 2 were streaked/gold.

Might be fun to get some streaky seeds from this if that is possible... let's see... maybe Atom Smasher or Ringtail cross??? Even OP might be fun to grow...
