Hosta of the Day - "Wolverine" - Post Your Pics

Post by Phil_and_Gayle »

I just LOVE this hosta. It's hard to say why I like it so much; all I know is that every time I walk by, I have to stop and admire him. This medium sized plant is about four years old.

Wolverine does have a great cascading shape Looks even better in a pot or better still a pot inside an old tall chimney pot Not certain what you call them over there maybe chimney stacks, any way looks fantastic with its cascading habit as would pineapple upside down maybe even Elvis Lives

This is my 'Wolverine' this spring. Still emerging a bit. It's much fuller now, but I don't have a current photo.

My W has been a dissapointment last couple of year it suffered with fairy ring and I spit up the outer crowns, Yes it's come back but they seem tiny compared to what it was I have put them all in a smaller pot to try and hope it looks more effective and size.

My Wolverine has been a good grower and one of my favorites. It holds up very well in a reasonably sunny area.

This hosta has been a good and fast grower for me. Picture taken June 10 this year. Guacamole wasn't showing much variegation, so I removed some tree branches for more sun last year. However, the extra sun bleaches out Wolverine's colour later in the season, so I'm moving them to a new location with more shade next spring.

Wow - I leave the site for a couple of hours and look what happens - lots of posts. Glad to see it.

Your 'Wolverine' is pretty even if the cut worms DID enjoy some of it.
