Do you have any pictures you can share?

Post by Chris_W »

Hi Everyone,

I am rapidly finishing up the 2012 hosta catalog but still need a few pictures for some of them. I thought I had taken pics of many of these but can't find them, so probably never got around to it  If any of you have pictures of these that you wouldn't mind sharing we would be grateful :)

Bumblebee
City Lights
Elvis Lives
Fat Cat
Frosted Jade
Gemstone
Holly's Velvet Piecrust
Jubilee
Mississippi Delta
My Cup of Tea
Obsession
Rosedale Golden Goose
Sky Dancer
Stirfry
Sun Worshipper
Teatime
Unchained Melody

A couple of these really surprise me, especially since I have mature clumps of a few of them and can't believe that I never got pictures of them!

Thanks in advance for your help - feel free to post the pictures here if you want, or email them to me at hallsons@perennialnursery.com I don't need huge resolutions, but enough in case I need to do some editing.

Don't have any "good" pictures - just a few shots.

I have Sun Worshipper, but it was new to me this year, so it's not very big.

City Lights, Sky Dancer both"lent" from HostaDanmark.

LOL I know it is okay. They benefit from the things I have learned from this forum and when I talk about the things.. I tell the audience it is one of the nurseries I bye from. They are part of the good boys circle, so the like to bring something to fulfill the circle.

Thank you all for your help :D I've had several donations and am only missing a few pictures now but should be able to get those in the spring. Just one more plant to go and the 2012 hosta catalog will be done :D

Ooh ooh ooh! I can tell you right now that I am going to need a Frosted Jade! Save me one. I just love it and mine died about four years ago. But, no, I don't have any pics of them for ya. Sorry. :-?

Thank you all for sharing! These and many that were emailed were just fantastic.

Frosted Jade really is a great plant. When it is young you would think it was just a clone of Francee but it gets better and better as it gets older. :)

Chris,

I noticed you didn't get a picture of "My Cup of Tea" in your catalog. My Cup of Tea was one of my favorite new ones. When I was looking through my pictures, I noticed 2 leaves that had some white along the veins. We bought this one in late July. The picture was taken August 5. Is this a virus?

Hi Linda,

No, I doubt that is a virus. Maybe some cold or frost settled into the veins. Whenever I see brown patches associated with other odd coloration I mostly rule out virus, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks Chris, I was ready to dig it out of the ground tomorrow (with all this warm weather we're having)!

This is one of my favorites and it's hard to find. The hosta library picture doesn't do it justice! Between the two of us, you should have a nice picture for your catalog next spring.

BTW, I found the list of hostas I was supposed to pick up while I was at your nursery last fall (it had fallen between the seat and the arm rest). It's amazing, two of the hostas you picked out for me (Roy Khelm and Ocean Isle) were on my list. I've been very please with all of the hostas you have picked out for me!

Gary and I are coming down this May to get some more hostas, I hope you'll still have Irish Luck! (no more ice cream store!). We should be able to attend your annual event if you have one this year.

I'm going to keep an eye on this one next spring. I enlarged the picture and couldn't tell for sure.
