Mr Blue

Post by redcrx »

I have had this Mr Blue since 2009. I recently saw it for sale and the ad said "S" for small. I have been looking at mine as it gets bigger and decided to measure the leaves. It's 7" by 9" in my garden.

How big is the clump size? It reminds me a little of a Halcyon with maybe a looser spread. I tend not to buy if they are classed as small but have had some surprises the mediums have grown to what I would class as large yet some of my Giants only seem to get to Large or they are taking forever to get there. Perhaps I am not patient enough.

Thats one Hosta I'd love to get my hands on. I think it's possible on of Mr. Wrede's best introductions. With Riptide as one of the parents, it should get some size eventually. Wonder why it was listed as small?

Rather than add both of these to the master list (unless they are already there), let's link to the other picture thread about this hosta - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=56566

Hi Ann, it wasn't there. I had added this link into the new topic. So if you just add the "Hosta of the Day" link it will all tie together.
