Do you have H. Barney Fife?

Post by plantbug »

If yes, could you post a picture? I have three plants that could be BF, but I only have one H. Barney Fife!! I have checked the hosta library and I need more pictures. Thanks for helping. plantbug

Adding pictures. I eliminated one plant. (Hope it wasn't the wrong one!)

Hi Plantbug,

I don't have it, and hadn't heard of it before your post, but looking it up they say that it will have purplish-gray petioles at the very base which it gets from tardiflora.

Can you share the pictures of your 3 and maybe we can help you to pick it out from the bunch?

this is yet another I have never heard of. Looking at the Library I would guess (from the pictures) it's a Halcyon derivative can#t tell if it's supposed to be blue thats lost it's wax or green. It does seem to have the same shaped leaves as most Halcyon derivatives.

From these pictures compared to the others I've seen online I'd say the picture labeled 582 4 is the closest. The others don't have quite the right shape or texture, but I sure can see how you are having a hard time with them - nothing all that distinctive about them...
