Special Day

Post by rosemarie »

Boy talk about having your day made, I got the new Journal today! Added some new Hosta to my want list and even if I don't ever get them all, it is great fun looking at them and drooling!! And I got the new password and I think I will paste it on my forehead so I remember it! Now I can spend eleventeen hours looking at the journals on line. (I do love this computer!) :D

Thank you Pia, but, while it isn't really pasted on my forehead, I do have it sitting next to my computer! And besides, it isn't rocket science so I have memorized it. And with my almost 87 year old brain, I have learned to write things down. Now if i can just remember where the heck I put everything I write down, I'll have it made!! It is always something!

Hi Rosemarie. What a fun day. I must join the AHS. Just a suggestion. Why don't you consolidate all your passwords in one computer document? I got the idea from my DIL. Now when I forget I have one record that I can refer to. And I keep adding to the list.

I'm wondering when MY Hosta Journal will arrive. It always seems to be weeks after everyone else has theirs.

My Hosta Journal came and I have enjoyed reading it. Has taken me several days to get through all the articles, not just look at the pictures!

Mine came yesterday, and I went to the Registrations book first. Quite shocking to see how they've stripped Paul Aden's name (as Originator, anyway) from a lot of the plants he promoted as his. It seems justified, though; some of "his" plants seem to have been outright stolen from a dying woman's garden. Now how many things do I need to re-label?

Always interesting to read the names of new registrations. So many of them seem just, well, stupid to me. But others... who wouldn't want to have Hosta 'Erotica' in their garden? ;)

Erotica needs to be in a "Striptease" garden - oh well.
It's should look like Snake Eyes with a blue edge.

Ed, is that pic 'Snake Eyes' or do you somehow have an 'Erotica'? I saw a couple of your registrations in the book, too. :)

O.k. so how disturbing is this? When I do a Google image search for "hosta erotica," one of the pictures is of Mildred Seaver. (The first image is of a VHS tape box of a particular kind of film titled "Sauna" and starring "Nuria Hosta.") But no pictures of 'Erotica'. Danny must be keeping this one under wraps. :-?

Still no Hosta Journal here. But I think maybe I NEED a H. 'Erotica' too.

I believe that is Erotica - Danny sent me that picture before he named it. It should be available in the fall.

I know where I will put it when I get one, between a Snake Eyes and a Silver Eagle.
