One a day - Hosta 'Phoenix'

Post by Rob »

The Hosta of the day tradition is one to keep alive.
I'll try to post one from now on every day, one that hasn't been shown before.

The first one is H. 'Phoenix', a H. rectifolia hybrid that is heading for oblivian, and I don't know why.
IMHO it brings something different to a collection.

That's a sharp hosta. Maybe your posting it here will help it...rise from the ashes. ;)

It's headed into oblivion, no doubt, because the pics of her in the Hosta Library are so bad. Maybe if your pic here was used in the Hosta Library, more folks would take notice of her. :D

The vase shape is very nice... got it last year so it is still a baby

How much sun does it get and how old is it ?
How does it grow
That's the info wich made hanks POD so special.... but telling the latitude of your garden and the other info, sure would be something worth saving.. so sad we do not have all of Hanks posts saved .. and some other posts with important info :D

Kevin - you are so right about the pics in the Hosta Library. I hope Rob will submit his pics.

Hello Pia,

I've edited my profile, so you can see latitude and climate zone of the garden.
The other information will be added to the original posting (sun, age, hwos does it grow)

Rainy greetings from Belgium (ideal hosta weather),

Rob
