Need help on an ID - turns out it's Arctic Blast

Post by redcrx »

(edit from original - I was going to do a HotD for Arctic Blast but decided to simply edit this old topic - November 10, 2014)

I was working on some potted ones today and noticed the correct tag for this one is missing. The tag in the pot said Tortilla Chip. I seem to remember the name had something to do with "cold".

Here's a different angle:

Thanks.

Thank you Paul. That's what it is. I won it last year at Hosta College.

Now I remember - that tag was hard to read anyway. it was written like:
A B
r l
t a
I s
c t

I kept thinking I should change that tag and then I lost it anyway - maybe it's down in the pot.

Arctic Blast is a cross of 'Komodo Dragon' x 'Elvis Lives' - an interesting plant with pointy rippled leaves.

How appropriate for the weather we are about to have. Even SW Washington is going to get some of this Arctic Blast. 32°tonight and 25° tomorrow night. Brrrrrr!

Here's a recent pic (in bloom) of ours. The pic is a little dark, as we were about to have one of our big storms blow through.
