long time no post...but this has just amazed me

This Blue Angel was almost lost to freezing about 6 years ago. It is now the largest hosta in my garden. I'm moving soon, so will have to leave it behind...

Simply beautiful! So what's your secret?

But why can't you take it with you? Or take at least half of it with you?

I will take a piece of it, and I'm sure that wherever it goes, it will be gorgeous. I just will miss this particular plant! It was one tiny eye when I saved it from freezing, so the size and health of this just blow me away.

I don't yet have a new house, so I don't know how much hosta space I will have.

So glad you will take a piece of it and I hope that piece looks like the original in a short time.

I think that part of the secret with all the hosta in this bed is that they get a bit of full sun every day. I chose hosta for this bed knowing they would get full sun, and boy - they have grown like gangbusters! I live in Ohio, so some serious clay in the soil, so I amend the soil with pine fines and manure when I plant. That's about it! There is a guacamole in this bed that is as large as the montana macrophylla next to it!
