'Moonstruck' - this was sometimes "melts out" in the leaf centre, but this year it was just slug damage.

leaf from 'Paradise Island'. I have no idea why this plant was so badly afflicted this year while 'Fire Island', very close by, was not.

A couple of First Frost. I don't know why one has a yellow edge and the other has a white edge. In my yard I normally see a yellow edge all season - my biggest is always yellow edged but I can't show it because the deer got to it this season.

We have had 2 nights of frost. I brought my tropicals into the garage yesterday - Thanksgiving Cactus are budding and a couple tropical orchids are spiking.

The killing frost has finally reached most of my garden. Until yesterday, Nov. 3, they were all standing and there were a lot of them with that glowing golden fall color. Most are laying flat now, but there are still some that don't look too bad.

Ours are buried up under a thick coat of pine needles and fast asleep for the winter months.

Ugh, our hostas are covered with snow now I still haven't finished tagging for the year, which is getting more and more difficult given that they are all a nice shade of yellow and now... About 75% is probably done and the rest still have tags from last winter, but yikes, I'm not ready for snow

I'm going to sit here and look at hosta pictures from last summer for a little while now

Oh no the 'S' word has hit in the midwest. So sorry to hear this, I agree it's going to be a long winter. I'm headed out to the Brug
House where B. 'Wild Thing' is in full bloom so I'll enjoy it for a while. Here us what I get to enjoy today!!
