Devil's Advocate is a sport of Blue Angel. It's been in my garden since 2010. I have one in a trough because I almost lost it to root competition.

Does it grow faster than Blue Angel?
Re: Hosta of the Day #3 - Devil's Advocate
I think slower but it's all about conditions. The leaves are a lot smaller on DA. The one I have in the ground was a single eye in 2011 and is still a single eye today - it's in shade and some root competition. The one in the trough has taken off - good sun and no root competition. Here are some old photos of the one in the trough. I salvaged a fragment from a garden torn up by tree roots.

Devil's Advocate today. This is one I had in a trough for a while and put it in my "New Garden" last year. Actually this is the same one that's shown above as a single leaf in 2011 that came out of a garden that overrun by tree roots.
At the moment it's the biggest hosta in there.
Here it is in the group setting.

Devil's Advocate this season:
Here is one in the side garden - gets lots of hot sun: Here is one is my back garden behind Venetian Lace - it's in bright shade and gets a little early morning sun:
