This is a little long.
Red Dog is a complex hybrid with Hacksaw and Atom Smasher in the mix. This plant is a lot bigger than its parents but still retains the rippled leaf edge. It had red in the petioles that extends into the leaf back. It produces large light-colored flowers on tall purple scapes late in the season.

Red Dog early in the 2013 season
In a group with a few Mr Blue on the left and Volcano Island on the right Later in the season it has exploded and is dwarfing the others, and is flowering (a little early)
