Lelan, thank you for doing this! Guess I'm the first one to thank you for the revised post and the confusion the first caused. I'm a Canuck and welcome all fellow Canadians on the forum to participate, it can be like Christmas in June when your surprise gift arrives!

I've never done one of these things. Would it be appropriate to send a hosta that doesn't do well for me? I'm in Texas, and I grow in pots, so not everything does well for me. For instance, I have a Key West that is in it's third year. It's not happy. It has about 7 eyes, but they are not big and showy like they should be. It would be great for it to have a home in the cold north ground. I have a couple of others that just don't do well for me here. Olgas hosta don't seem to care for Texas.

Would that be appropriate to do with a swap?

Absolutely! As long as the person you're sending it to doesn't have it as yet.....

I'm looking forward to this swap. Any plant that isn't doing well in one place, might thrive in another.

I AM CANADIAN...........!

Sorry, just had to. I haven't been on here in forever. Life is getting busier by the day. 3 little girls, soccer almost every evening, Honey-Do-List, etc......... You thought host addiction was bad; I got into ducks and coturnix quail. Bird math is a problem! I appreciate the heads up on this ZZTOPSOIL. I would love to get in on this swap. It's a fun way to expand your collection. I will have to attempt to update my list here in the next few days.

P.M. on its way ZZ.

Oooohhhh thanks for PMing me!! I haven't been on here in a bit and wouldn't have known otherwise!! Yes I would love to join, I'll PM you the info. The last time I did this I had such fun! I got, I think, 4 hostas. We moved and took them all with us and they are doing well. Now we're moving again in a couple months so we're digging everyone up anyway, and it will be great to add a swap to the mix!!!

Well I don't have a list yet. I might have one from years ago, not sure where it is on here. But we're moving soon, so all the hostas and woodland/shade gardens are getting moved too. I plan on doing what I always wanted to do a food garden. I also might do a music garden since my husband is a musician. For food any plants with food names will be fun. With funky colors too. It was very funny because the last swap I did I didn't mention that I want to do this at some point and I got Twist of Lime and Raspberry Sorbet and a third I can't remember the name right now, as three of the four that were sent to me! It was perfect!

I will have to update my list, which I stopped trying to keep up with several years ago.

Thanks for the private message about this swap! I'll join in the fun, but it's been a long time since I've been here, so I'm not sure if I even have a list of my hosta...and if I do, it's got to be updated!

Well...looks like I do have a list on here! I gotta get out more!

I, like several others, have not been to this site in a while and was pleasantly surprised to receive a PM inviting me to join in the fun. In past swaps, whether it was on this site or others I have always had a pleasurable experience, and hope that the recipients of my exchanges felt the same way. I have, however, refocused the direction of my hobby and am concentrating on the hybridizing aspect of it rather than adding to the more than 400 named varieties in my collection. Time and space issues will cause me to regretfully decline this offer to participate even though my past experiences are tempting me to say "yes". Thank you Leland for taking on the task of arranging this swap and I hope you participants enjoy it as much as I did. It was nice to see some names of participants that I used to "hang out with" on this forum. I've "met" Carol O on the hybridizing forum, and wondering if Dr Dave is still dabbing pollen?
It also brought a smile to my face to see that the tutorial I did on "digging, dividing and shipping" is still alive and well, wow, that seems like a long time ago!
Best wishes to all,
Mike

Count me in. I really need to check my mail more often, I almost missed out on the swap. With all this rain all I do is pull weeds. I will also try to get my list updated as best as I can. Lost a few and added a few.
Thankyou so very much for hosting the swap, and sending out a message to everyone was a brilliant idea. I also would have missed it if you hadn't.
