Guardian Angel problems

I planted this in the fall (not from chris) and this is what came up this year. The leaves are so tight together and not uniform in size-anybody have issues with this one?

When I got my GA in 2012, it was the ugliest, most-gangly-looking thing I'd ever seen. In 2013 it was "Meh." Mine looks great now. I think yours will mature out of it.

Thanks for the reassurance, I thought it was dying or something. Several of my older Hosta did not reach the same size they were last year, I guess this one is taking its time and our winter and late spring freeze took its toll.
