Help naming Hosta
Hi, I'm new to the site. I recently brought some unnamed Hostas for a friend. As a novice I didn't realise it would be so difficult to identify them. So we were hoping for some help. Thanks Denise

Re: Help naming Hosta
Hi,
this one reminds me a little of Hosta 'Cheatin Heart'. How tall and wide is the foliage on this?

Re: Help naming Hosta
Hi the height to the top of the flower stem is 36 cm the bigger leaf is 6cm x 6cm. The lower of both the leaf and the flower stem does have a red coloration on them. Also the flower does have a slightly darker striped running through it. One other suggestion was lemontini.
Thank you for your reply. Denise

Re: Help naming Hosta
The flowers aren't right for Lemontini - and the flowering time is wrong too. The size fits for Cheatin Heart, and I can't think of anything else quite like this.

What about Gold Edger? Can you get a close-up of the interior of the flower?

Take a look at an old topic I was playing with a bunch of years ago - it focuses on an all gold sport of Royal Tiara but compares it to Gold Edger:

and towards the bottom of the topic there are flower pictures of Gold Edger.
