Sum and Substance is a gold hosta that can get huge. It is considered one of the best hosta ever. It also has a tendency to sport same very nice plants such as Titanic and Winter Snow.

l didn't realize there wasn't a "Hosta of the Day" for this plant (or I couldn't find one).
I have a few of these in my garden and a couple are getting BIG.
This first one is planted near my house and next to a Stained Glass. I think it was damaged a little by the cold this spring.
It is putting up scapes.

Re: Hosta of the Day - Sum and Substance
This second one is in a garden I carved out a couple of years ago. It may get the most sun and got a little sun-burned earlier in the season.
Actually, I have shown this one before and a long time ago when it put up a twisted scape and a double flower - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=51626
This third one is the oldest and smallest. It was planted in 2008 but has to deal with limited sun, tree root competition, and maybe some vole activity (it in a basket now).Actually, I have shown this one before and a long time ago when it put up a twisted scape and a double flower - viewtopic.php?f=1&t=51626

My Sum and Substance is in flower. The plant is also supporting a volunteer tomato plant.
