Larix decidua 'Puli'

The Conifer Society is offering this as one of their 2010 plant of the year,it is suggested that they need staking to train,what would be suitable for staking ?

I've used 8 ft lengths of bamboo - I find single lengths at Home Depot and Lowe's - and cut them to whatever length is needed. I would gradually adjust the height as the plant grows - I think these would be small plants. Chain link fence top rails that come in 10 ft lengths work well after the plant gains some height. 'Course you'll need a tall ladder to drive them into the ground - I use a metal fence post driver.
