Hydrangea quercifolia "Vaughn's Lillie"

Post by BillyB »

This may very well be my favorite hydrangea of the dozen we grow. We ran across this a couple of years ago at nursey in Asheville, N.C. The blooms are so big and so much thicker than any other oakleaf we have. It just draws you from across the garden. A great addition to our hydrangea bed. I've heard hydrangea "Harmony" is very similar. Does anyone grow it?

Wow, that is spectacular! I don't have either of those you mentioned, and actually I've had such a hard time finding the oakleaf hydrangeas that I finally just decided we should grow our own crop instead. Will definitely be on the lookout for this one :D
