Laughing in the grocery store today...

Post by Chris_W »

While grocery shopping there were a lot of mothers and/or fathers with their kids along (grade school mostly) so I think it was a half day or a day off today. Some of the kids were extremely well behaved and some were, well... One mother, obviously at the end of her rope, told her two sons to settle down right now or, "I will duct tape you to the luggage rack on the way home. And don't test me, because I swear I will do it!"

I waited in the parking lot for a little while to see the spectacle but sadly the boys must have calmed down for the rest of their grocery trip

A good reminder of why parents of school-age children often complain about too many holidays - but they tend to vote YES on school bond issues. They look at their one or two or three and realize the teacher with 30 of them all days deserves a raise!

And yet another use for duct tape. Funny, Chris. :D

That would make me laugh too. On the other hand, idle threats of dire consequences that will never be carried out lead to children who just go on doing what they're doing.

Wow, just two.......think what it would of been like to take 7 to the store? I love those idle threats!! Yep as a kid those didn't faze me. I remember being bored one
day and Dad said we should go play in the traffic. Well let's say I got grounded for doing so with my little brother.

Most moms have at least thought this more than once! When mine were young, I cheated when telling them such things, by using sign language. They knew most of the words I was saying, but more important they knew if I had switched to sign, there had stepped on my last nerve. LOL
