Use this area to talk about tender plants such as annuals, tropicals, and houseplants.

Brugs for shade for hostas

Post by flowerchild59 »

I've of course, lost my tree in the middle of a hosta bed, and am waiting for the self seeded trees like dog wood and walnut to grow tall enough to cast shade.
Do you think if I planted some brugs throughout the bed that it would cast some shade by the middle of summer?
It receives shade off and on thru the day from other trees so the brugs would be in not quite full sun...I would say 3/4 sun.

flowerchild59, I would say no to the Brugmansia and tell you to get some PVC and make a structure for shade. I would hate to say yes but knowing how brugmansia are, let's just they aren't that reliable to save your hostas.
