Last spring I had a seedling of ornamental rhubarb -- the only one that germinated from a copious sowing of seeds --which I planted out in the nursery garden. It produced several leaves after it got outside, but every time it would make a third leaf, the oldest leaf withered and dropped off. Finally, at about midsummer, the whole thing drooped and disappeared, and I was sure I'd killed it.
This spring, however -- VOILA! -- it appeared again, and now has one huge leaf with another on the way. Hooray! Phyllis
It's not dead yet!(pic)
